Stigma around menstrual hygiene

The stigma surrounding feminine hygiene has existed in our society for hundreds of years. As we take active steps to shatter the myths around it, a lot remains to be done. We must address major behavioral change issues. A simple change in one’s behavior can have a major impact. We can make such efforts at an individual, household, community or a mass level using variety of means and techniques. The recent Bollywood feature film – PAD MAN has done wonders on these terms. It urges us to talk about the problem openly and embrace the solutions without any hesitation.

Yuva’s initiatives for menstrual hygiene

At Yuva Unstoppable, we have been doing our bit to address the problem and build awareness about the subject. It has born great implications in terms of improving health and hygiene among the students. Through experience, we know the best way to do this is by interacting with them. The more we talk and teach, the more they will learn and understand.
