In 2019, I became the youngest Indian citizen to win the International Ellis Island Award at the Statue of Liberty, USA. It was a moment of great pride, deeply appreciated by Yuva Unstoppable supporters and patrons. MD, VIP, Dilip Piramal said: “Many congratulations to Amitabh Shah for this brilliant honor, a great recognition for India. More corporates should  join Yuva Unstoppable’s cause of upgrading schools.”

About Ellis Island Award

Legends who have made freedom, liberty, and compassion a part of their life’s work are usual awardees. Some of the past medalists were former US Presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush, Jimmy Carter; Boxer Muhammad Ali, Rosa Parks. Nobel Peace Prize Winner Malala Yousafzai, Former Pepsi Honcho Indra Nooyi, Singer Wayne Newton, Golfer Arnold Palmer, Actor Michael Douglas, etc. Some of the winners of 2019 medal were – Erick Schmidt (Former Google CEO), Ginni Rometti (IBM-Global CEO). Mr. Ajay Banga (CEO Master Card). Muhtar Kent (Chairman Coca Cola), Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and Emmy Award-Winning Musician Paula Abdul & Talk Show Host Montel Williams. Both the US House of Representatives and Senate have officially recognized the Ellis Island Medals of Honor. Each year’s recipients are read into the Congressional Record.

A bit more about my work

Amitabh was also the 2015 Winner of the Prince’s Prize for Innovative Philanthropy. In 2018, he won the title of Sri Lankan Peace Ambassador by Center of Peace Studies. He is a celebrated inspirational speaker on kindness, gratitude and the power of self-belief. And has won hearts with his presence at Ted Talks, Yale, Wharton, YPO/WPO, United Way’s Million Dollar Roundtable, amongst others. He is the recipient of Rotary International’s 2019 – Iconic Youth Award 2019. National Award Winning Film Director, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, along with Gulzar & Shankar Ehsan Loy made a film inspired by Yuva’s grassroots efforts – Mere Pyare PM about an 8 year old wanting to make a toilet for his mother.
